Amber Coughlin (she/her) is a Pittsburgh, PA native dancer, choreographer, teacher, and Yogi currently residing in Akron, Ohio. Her training includes intensives at Groundworks Dance Theater, Millenium Dance Complex Pittsburgh, Kelly Strayhorn Theatre’s Alloy Studios (formally Pittsburgh Dance Alloy Pittsburgh), and Point Park University. All supplementing her work at her home studio – Miss Holly’s Dance Studio. While still in High School, she was awarded the 1st Place Award for Choreography in the 2013 Gene Kelly Awards held in Pittsburgh, PA – for her work on ‘All Shook Up’ performed by Penn Hills HS. After graduating, she attended The University of Akron to train as a Dance Major and focus on her ballet (under Pauline Reilly-Howe) and modern technique (under Tom Smith – who trained under Martha Graham). Since that time, she has continued to dance and choreograph in the Akron/Cleveland area with companies such as Reverie Dance Collective, Adrija Dance Company, and of course – Cleveland Dance Project. Her passion for Yoga first blossomed in her youth when it was shown to her in a dance class. The calm and peace she experienced through the flow was such a difference from the usual fast paced dance classes she took that she became infatuated with it!  After over a decade of various yoga classes, Amber decided to take her Yogi journey more seriously. As she began her daily practice and realized her potential, plans to receive her 200hr YTT were set into motion. In 2020 Amber received her Yoga Teacher Training through Samanova Yoga (lead teacher Lindsey Nova). Over her months of teacher training, Amber was able to be certified in Vinyasa, Aerial, Yin and Ashtanga styles alongside an extensive study of meditation. Through Samanova Yoga, Amber trained with teachers from all over the world, such as Mysore India, London, England, California, USA and more, providing her a well rounded view on the global Yoga community and molding Amber into the teacher she is today. In her classes, Amber enjoys the play and freedom yoga can bring and enjoys creating flows that leave students feeling refreshed and powerful!
