3/9, 3:30-5pm commercial jazz with molly weiss

Molly Weiss is a dancer and choreographer based in the Cleveland area whose passionate and vibrant attitude helps her to succeed as a performer and a teacher. She graduated from the University of Michigan in 2017 with a B.A. in Sociology and a minor in Creative Writing. She began competitively dancing at age six and hasn't stopped since, trained in the styles of jazz, hip-hop, ballet, contemporary, tap, musical theatre, and acrobatics. During her time at University of Michigan she was a member and choreographer of a hip-hop dance crew, as well as performed in music videos and took classes through the U of M dance department. After graduating, Molly taught at various dance studios and choreographed for show choirs and musicals. During this time she also trained on Cleveland's elite hip-hop dance crew, Elevāted, which led her to performance opportunities such as World of Dance. In 2018, Molly became the founding Artistic Director of Cleveland Dance Project Company, a 501c3 contemporary fusion dance company committed to promoting wellness for dancers and exploring the benefits of movement for physical and mental health. She furthered her choreography and performance experience by getting involved with Cedar Fair Entertainment as the Park Choreographer at Valleyfair Amusement Park, and had the opportunity to serve as choreographer for two of their immersive festival events, ‘Grand Carnivale’ and ‘Tricks and Treats’. Molly is excited to by the opportunity to embrace the athleticism, beauty, and art of dance.

Heels with emily karn, sun 4/14, 11:30-1pm

Emily Karn, born and raised in Columbus, OH, grew up dancing competitively in ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary, and hip-hop. After high school, Emily worked with NJB Ballet Company as a teacher and company member. Later that year, she had the opportunity to perform as a backup dancer in drag shows at Axis Nightclub. Emily has spent the last 9 years working as a professional dancer, choreographer, and show director in the Columbus drag scene. Live performances include RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 11 LA Show, opening act for King Princess in Columbus, and performer at Columbus’ Mayor Ginther’s Inaugural Ball. She has also worked as a choreographer and dancer in music videos such as Nina West's "Lisa Frankenstein", and commercials such as Oraquick's 2019 campaign ads. Emily loves to choreograph and teach, and especially loves encouraging dancers to perform outside of their comfort zone.
