The Wellness Living site isn’t working for me. Help!

We recommend either using the Wellness Living Achieve app on your smart phone or being on your browser on a computer. The mobile browser version does not work well!

Also, make sure you have inputted your full birthdate so that you have access to all of our age restricted classes (16+ only).

If you still can’t get it to work, feel free to just venmo us with your class fee and include your name & email address & what class/date you are registering for and we will enroll you.

What’s the difference between CDP and CDP Company?

CDP puts on 2 showcases a year, open to all levels and styles of dancers and we do our best to place everyone who attends auditions in at least one piece. CDP also offers dance classes to adults of all levels.

CDP Company is a 501c3 professional contemporary jazz dance & wellness company that performs around greater Cleveland/Akron (including in the CDP showcase) and does community outreach and programming focused on dance and wellness. These professional dancers devote ~5 hours/week to rehearsal/training. Learn more about CDP Company at their website - www.cdpcompany.org

Since CDP’s founding in 2017, every penny earned goes right back into our organization. Your fees go towards our studio, auditorium rental, lights, sound, video, photography, and costume budgets.

What is my registration fee and tuition used for?

All rehearsals will take place at our new CDP studios, 5505 Valley Belt Rd, Brooklyn Heights

Where are rehearsals?

Can I still join CDP if I have no dance experience at all?

We encourage beginners to start with some weekly classes to introduce you to dance first! This will make auditions less intimidating. We also have beginner auditions, no experience necessary! Each season we have a few dances that are open to beginners with little to no dance experience. We’ll teach you basic movement at auditions - we just want to see how you move and perform! Then you’ll learn all the moves for the performance in rehearsals!

What level should I register for if it’s been years since I’ve danced?

If you have a technical background (even if it was many years ago!), but you’re feeling rusty and it’s been a long time since you’ve had to pick up choreography or do any improvisation, we’d recommend you register for intermediate-advanced. CDP is a supportive atmosphere and we love to see people challenge themselves, but placing yourself appropriately will help you shine! The full level breakdown is on the audition registration page. If you’re still uncertain, send us a video and we’ll suggest a placement level for you!

CDP’s policy is if you miss more than 2 rehearsals, you are no longer able to perform with us. All absences should be communicated ahead of time, and dancers should do their best to prioritize attendance at rehearsals, and catch up on any missed choreography via video.

What if I need to miss more than 2 rehearsals?

Whatever you feel comfortable in! There are absolutely no street shoes in the studio, but you can choose to dance barefoot, dance paws, in ballet slippers, jazz shoes, or CLEAN sneakers. For your outfit, make sure you can move and you feel confident! This audition is just as much about your dance technique as it is your performance, showing up and smiling with a good attitude is half the battle!
